Patrice Evra may be handed new role at Manchester United

Manchester United are discussing a new role for Patrice Evra at the club.

The 37-year-old has been a constant presence alongside executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward at games since October, and has been allowed into the dressing room by Jose Mourinho. He haas been spotted together with Ed Woodward on different occasions on and off the club.

United are looking to bring in a director of football, but the former United defender is likely to have an ambassadorial or liaison remit. And his presence with the top executives of the club could easily spark up a negotiation talk for him occupying that spot for the clubs Director of sports. Evra has been more attached to the club since joining the Premier League side West Ham United earlier during the year.

After spending  8 seasons in Manchester United after joining the team from Monaco, and scoring 7 goals for the Red Devils, Evra gets on well with many of the first team players, such as fellow Frenchmen Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial. And from almost every indication, Evra's link with Manchester United is even more stronger than the link he has with his present side West Ham.
